The Symptoms Of HIV And AIDS. HIV infection emerges in three stages. The first stage is seroconversion. The second stage is the period when no symptoms appear. And the third stage is HIV infection turned into AIDS.
The First Stage
People infected with the HIV virus will suffer pain similar to flu. After this, HIV does not cause any symptoms for several years. This flu like symptoms will show up a few weeks after being infected. These are often known as seroconversion.

Approximately 8 out of 10 HIV-infected people experience this. The most common symptoms are:
- Throat pain
- Fever
- Appear in the body, rash is usually not itchy
- Swelling of lymphatic staining
- Weight loss
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Painful joints
- Muscle pain
The above symptoms can last up to one month. This is a harbinger of the immune system is fighting the virus. But these symptoms could be caused by a disease other than HIV. This condition is not solely because of the HIV-infected.
Do HIV testing if you feel at risk of being infected or when appearing the symptoms mentioned above. But keep in mind, not all people experience the same symptoms as mentioned above. If felt had done something that made you risk infected, go to the nearest hospital or clinic to undergo HIV testing.
The Second Stage
After the initial symptoms disappear, usually HIV doesn't cause further symptoms over the years (the window). This is the stage when HIV infection progresses without the appearance of symptoms. The virus is continuing to spread and damage the immune system. In this step, you will feel healthy and there is no problem. We may not be aware already contracted HIV, but we could transmit this infection to other people.While this step can walk about 10 years or even more.
The third stage or the last stage of HIV infection
If left untreated, HIV weakens the body's ability in fighting infection. With this condition, you will be more susceptible to serious illness. The final stage is more commonly known as AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). The following are symptoms that showed up on the last stage of HIV infection:
- Staining lymphatic or lymph nodes swell in the neck and groin.
- A fever that lasts more than 10 days.
- Feeling exhausted almost every time.
- Night sweats.
- Weight down without known cause.
- Purple spots on the skin are not lost.
- Shortness of breath.
- Diarrhea that is severe and ongoing.
- Yeast infection in the mouth, throat or vagina.
- Easy bruising or bleeding without cause.
Risk of developing deadly diseases will increase at this stage. For example, cancer, tuberculosis, and pneumonia. But despite this deadly disease, treatment of HIV can still be done. Early treatment can help improve health.
