Melanoma Skin Cancer Symptoms
Melanoma skin cancer symptoms are often characterized by the emergence of newmoles or changes in the shape of a long Mole. The form is usually normal moles:
- One color
- Round or oval
- Diameter of less than 6 mm
While melanoma typically has features:
- Have more than one color
- The shape is irregular
- Diameter greater than 6 mm
- Itch and can bleed
With ABCDE list, we can distinguish normal moles with melanoma. List of ABCDE is:
- A (asymmetrical) asymmetric: melanoma have irregular shape and cannot be divided equally
- B (border) fringe: melanoma has uneven edges and rough, unlike normal moles
- C (colour) color: melanomas usually are a mix of two or three colors
- D (diameter) diameter: melanoma is usually larger than 6 mm in diameter, different from ordinary moles
- E (enlargement or evolution) enlargement or evolution: a mole that changes shape and size after some time will usually be melanoma
Melanoma can grow in any part of the body, but some parts of the body that often affected are:
- Face
- Hand
- Backs
- Walk
Melanoma can also occasionally appears under the nail. See a doctor immediately if you feel anxious with one of your moles.
Causes Of Skin Cancer Melanoma
Although almost all cases of melanoma is related to the effect of ultraviolet rays on the skin, the exact cause is still unknown.
Cancer can show up at any part of the body. The body is made of millions of cells of different types. Cancer occurs when cells multiply in some abnormal. When cancer affect solid organs and tissues cells, it can cause the growth of so-called tumor. Not yet known with certainty why the cells can reproduce themselves as abnormal.
Cancer can grow and spread quickly, either in the skin, inside blood, or other parts of the body if left and not taken care of. The spread usually occurs through the lymphatic system. If the cancer reaches the lymphatic system, the cancer can spread through out the body including bones, blood, and other body organs.
The lymphatic system is a series of lymph nodes throughout the body and is inter-related to each other like the circulatory system. Lymph nodes produce a lot of cells needed by the immune system. Lymph nodes also known as lymph nodes.
Melanoma and the Sun
Sunlight contains ultraviolet, which can affect the skin. In most cases, suspectedmelanoma is caused by sun exposure. But please be aware that not all melanomas are associated with exposure to ultraviolet light, as it can still appear on the skin areas that are rarely exposed to the Sun.
There are two main types of ultraviolet rays, the ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB). If too long exposure to UVA and UVB rays, the skin will be damaged and make it more susceptible to skin cancer (incl. melanoma).
Increased Risk Of
All the following factors make your skin becoming more sensitive to the adverse effects of sunlight. Factors that can increase the risk of developing melanoma is:
- Have a lot of moles
- Have a lot of freckles
- Pale skin who burn easily and are hard to change skin so black
- The age of
- Conditions that lower the immune system such as HIV
- Drugs that lower the immune system (immunosuppression), this type of medication is usually consumed after underwent organ transplantation
- There are family members who suffered from melanoma
